UC Humanities Commission Report

President Richard C. Atkinson appointed The Presidential Commission on the Humanities to help the University of California formulate its twenty-first century role as a national and international model for the humanities in higher education. Composed of distinguished humanists from UC and other California universities, the Commission set forth, in its report on June 7, 2001, a range of recommendations that it believes will allow UC to provide leadership and promote excellence in the humanities. The report has four main sections, New Literacies, Research, Graduate Support and Employment, and Outreach. The full report and an executive summary are available by clicking on the links below.
